Cultural DiplomacySince 2006, HDI has partnered with prominent entertainers to organize musical performances, lectures and master classes in over a dozen challenging locations including Pakistan, Afghanistan, Albania, Vietnam and Laos. Special emphasis is placed on reaching disenfranchised audiences in non-traditional venues such as war zones, prisons, and rehabilitation centers. HDI’s cultural diplomacy activities increase international understanding of American culture and values by increasing people-to-people contacts. HDI has recently embarked on a new area of cultural diplomacy programming: Sports Diplomacy. Through this new initiative, HDI plans to send professional athletes, coaches and trainers to Europe, Asia and other continents. International ExchangeHDI organizes and implements visits by members of Congress and their staff to foreign countries include Egypt, Bahrain, and Kazakhstan.  These trips have an important educational benefit to the U.S. by allowing Washington decision makers the opportunity to learn firsthand about vital issues facing key allies around the world.

International Film ExchangeThe International Film Exchange (IFE) brings together young filmmakers from around the world to Hollywood and assists them in developing the technical and creative tools needed to document important social issues in their countries of origin. The IFE serves two purposes. 1) to provide training for young filmmakers and organize outlets for their films. 2) Raise Awareness in the U.S. film industry about important social issues and the struggles of young international filmmakers around the world.
