Humpty Dumpty Institute Mourns Loss of Former United Nations Secretary General Kofi AnnanThe Humpty Dumpty Institute expressed its sincerest condolences to the United Nations community on the passing of former U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan. Secretary General Annan worked tirelessly for world peace and human rights worldwide. As the first U.N. Secretary General from sub Saharan Africa, Kofi Annan focused the world’s attention on the humanitarian crises in Africa such as hunger, exploitation, and environmental degradation. The Humpty Dumpty Institute is honored to have worked with the Secretary General as he advocated on the important work of the United Nations to Members of the U.S. Congress. HDI Chairman Dr. Al Khalafalla said “As a fellow son of Africa, I mourn the death of Secretary General Annan. Mr. Annan was instrumental in bringing awareness of the human suffering in Africa to the U.S. Congress. His efforts to alleviate human suffering were unmatched."
