New York, NY — The Humpty Dumpty Institute is pleased to announce that Congressman Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) is the newest member of its Congressional Advisory Board. Congressman Gallego is one of the youngest members of Congress and a former U.S. Marine who served in Iraq. The Congressman's expertise on issues relating to the military and homeland security will further enhance the Institute’s programming experience and broaden its presence on Capitol Hill.
"I’m honored to join the Humpty Dumpty Institute’s Congressional Advisory Board,” said Congressman Ruben Gallego. He added, "I am looking forward to a productive partnership with the Humpty Dumpty Institute and to working with my fellow Members of Congress on the Advisory Board to continue America’s robust support for the United Nations and to help chart a path forward in tackling humanitarian issues and crises around the globe."
Ralph Cwerman, Humpty Dumpty's President said "I am delighted to welcome Congressman Gallego to our growing and active Congressional Advisory Board. Currently, we have 33 Members of Congress who serve on our Board, all of whom strengthen immeasurably our organization's ability to continue and improve one of our core missions — the exchange of ideas and knowledge between the United Nations and the U.S. Congress. Congressman Gallego represents a fresh generation of leaders who will work very hard to forge new, innovative solutions to some of the world's most intractable humanitarian problems."
Bringing Members of Congress from both sides of the aisle to UN headquarters for private dialogues with U.N. leaders has been the signature program of the Humpty Dumpty Institute since its inception in 1998. "Over this period of time", Cwerman continued "we have brought nearly 50 Congressional Delegations and hundreds of Congressional staff to U.N. headquarters." In addition to these Congressional Delegations to the United Nations, Humpty Dumpty also organizes special fact-finding trips to countries around the world providing unique insights to Members of Congress seeking additional information on various U.S. foreign policy issues.
The Humpty Dumpty Institute remains committed to working with Members of Congress and providing them with opportunities to interact with senior leaders of the United Nations and different nations around the globe.
