HDI Brings Delegation of U.N. Ambassadors to Environmentally Themed Program in Miami, Florida
March 2007The Humpty Dumpty Institute, in partnership with the United States Mission to the United Nations, took six senior U.N. diplomats (including four Permanent Representatives) to Miami March 4-6 under our "U.N Across America Program". The U.N. delegation included Permanent Representatives from Australia, Iraq, Kenya Republic of Burundi, as well as Deputy Permanent Representatives from Albania and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The delegation focused primarily on environmental issues and allowed the ambassadors to see an area of the country that most had not visited. The participants' agenda included a briefing and a tour of the Florida Everglades National Park, an academic event at the Florida International State University with a participation of over 150 students, an evening at the Miami Heat NBA game and a briefing by the County Miami/Dade on the municipal structure, trade, development, and civic institutions. The ambassadors were extremely pleased with the visit.
